Position: Canoe Guide
I have several passions in my life and these have lead to great experiences in the following fields: environmental science/ soil science (obtained a Master of Science Degree in 2005); working science field jobs including fish projects in Montana, turtle projects in costa Rica, and forestry/agriculture projects in SK and the Yukon; teaching (I have subbed in Whitehorse Highschools including Wood Street Outdoor School, and in several dance schools); outdoor education/guiding (I have taken a NOLS Outdoor Educator Course, worked as an assistant guide for Ruby Range); outdoor interests include hiking, camping, fishing, rafting, canoeing, sea kayaking, road biking, skiing, and snow-shoeing; dancing (I have worked as a dancer over the past 10 years, highlights are a Micheal Buble Music Video, Ritz Commercial, and dancing with the National Ensemble of Uk Dance Virsky in Kyiv, Ukraine); and finally travel (destination hightlights include Ukraine, Egypt, Thailand, Cuba, Hawaii, Romainia, Russia, Mexico, and Costa Rica). My greatest characteristics as a guide are patience, calmness, friendliness, and being consistant. I am the kind of person who brings a peaceful nature to the group and I can be counted on to maintain my pleasant disposition through the course of the trip and through adversities encountered. I think this is a positive feature because the fellow guides or guests may depend on the fact that I will consistently help them, advise them, be their friend, converse with them, and have a smile on my face. I am a hospitable person and really do care about the indiviuals that I work with. In addition to this, I am comfortable in nature and with outdoor living, therefore I can share my love for the earth and how to live in it with 'Leave No Trace Principles' through my daily actions.
