Niall grew up reading Robert Service and Jack London and headed North at his first opportunity. He is finishing a degree in anthropology and creative writing, and in spite of the best possible training to the contrary, still hasn’t lost the romantic sentiments that brought him North. Niall has guided in the Mackenzie Mountains and the Wernecke Mountains, and explored the territory on foot, horseback, skis, canoe, motorcycle, and a log raft. He has a special interest in the Yukon’s culture and oral history, and is currently with one elder from Dawson City on a book that combines both.
